History

Ascension Via Christi Research began in 1988 as the Center for Phase I Research in Psychiatry, garnering attention from numerous global pharmaceutical corporations for quality conduct of clinical trials. In 1993 Ascension Via Christi Research diversified into HIV trials, and today studies interventions for heart, stroke, epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease, gastrointestinal dieseases, diabetes, infectious diseases and more. Years of dedicated focus conducting clinical trials have honed our skills, resulting in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health and hundreds of pharmaceutical sponsors and contract research organizations.

Based at Ascension Via Christi Hospital St. Francis, Cancer Research of Kansas recruits participants for investigational studies designed to determine new ways to treat, prevent, detect, diagnose and control cancer. Patients also are offered opportunities to join other studies looking at the psychological impact of cancer and ways to improve quality of life for cancer patients.
